Healthy nutrition is one of our central tenants for a better tomorrow for all Americans. The start of good dietary habits begins young, with parents providing necessary nurturing and schools providing the necessary guidelines for healthy living. As part of this fundamental educational and outreach program, Americans For a Better Tomorrow and Chipotle have partnered to create an environment for the youth that encourages healthy choices. We want to prevent the obesity rate from rising any further while also providing the students with nutritious foods that will enable them to also perform better in school and in life. By providing healthy school meals to students, we are also providing them with the guidance and the ability to take the eating habits they learn in school into their own lives as they get older, and eventually into their own families lives.
NSLP (National School Lunch Program) was originally been set up to cater to kids that were underfed and malnourished. Now, our kids are still malnourished but not because they are underfed. In fact, 17% of Americans from the ages of 2-19 are obese. We need to address the current health problems. The students aren't being fed the nutritious food that they deserve and need to be productive in school. We need a change to the school lunch programs that would be geared towards the diet problems of young Americans today, not the problems of the past.
For these reasons, Americans For a Better Tomorrow is happy to endorse Chipotle for school meals. Their meat products are free of antibiotics and hormones that are commonly found in other meat products. They make use of organic ingredients which assures that you know what is truly in your food. And most importantly, they provide fresh food. No more frozen, unhealthy and unappetizing school meals.
